:::: i love you a bushel and a peck
a bushel and a peck
and a hug around your neck.::::
my grandmother taught me that song when i was little. except i dont remember when exactly. all i remember is that when you get some people in my family singing is may get slightly out of hand , so i remember the 2 of us, and later 3 then 4 of me and my sisters running around singing that song as loudly as possible, both with my grandmother and at times when she was miles and miles away. the most recent time us 4 sang it was this weekend for my papaw. he misses her already. he took good care of her.

im beginning to understand that relationships require work. and by work, i mean
» w o r k. «
its a rather serious business to be a friend, or a family, or spouse, or even aquaintence. you have to talk, and remember to be sort of selfless and forget about when the other person is stupid. you have to love them no matter what, and be interested in what they are saying even when you could care less, because you care abou them in general. when they are sick, you have to give them soup and kiss their head and make them go to sleep and then most likely get sick too. you have to be vulnerable [ :O ] and honest and open, [at least sometimes] and keep your mean thoughts to yourself and apologize when you are wrong.
and if you do this long enough the relationship will most likely be loveliest thing you have ever seen. but it usually takes a while to get there and most people are impatient.
i am impatient sometimes. but-- "kill me with spites; but we must not be foes."
and anyway, sometimes before you actually get there you get a taste of how lovely it will be and thats nice.
:::: oh, i love you a bushel and a peck,
a bushel and a peck
you bet your pretty neck i do! ::::
