unsatisfactory places to cry:
1. a bathroom without tissues
2. a desert
3. a jungle
4. a car--especially while driving, as tears make it difficult to see and seeing is good
5. in the middle of church
6. any place that is especially quiet, as the quiet draws undue attention to the crying noises that are most likely unavoidable
7. a resturant
8. in a crowd of people that dont care whether youre crying or not
9. in situations with non-waterproof mascara. its easier to cry if you are confident that your mascara is not going to be in new zealand when you are finished. mostly for girls, i think
to ensure crying satisfaction, try one of these places instead:
1. on someones shoulder, or into their chest, neck or head. especially effective if 1) they are crying too, 2) they are good at wiping away tears, 3) they like you and they dont have to be doing other things, and 4) they dont mind tears and snot and sniffles and moreover, they dont mind those things all over them
2. into your pillow. good for late at nights when the afore-mentioned people are probably asleep. good for pitiful tears. teddy bears are also useful in this catagory
3. in a bathroom with tissues
4. on the floor. this is not to be abused and used for tantrums. very dramatic--scarlett o'hara-esque.
5. into a handkerchief. used for demure tears. elegant. however, moves quickly into the "unsatisfactory" catagory if not washed very quickly after the tears
6. an invisible place, which means you probably arent crying, cause it doesnt exist, which means that instead you are happy, which is good.
7. late at night. night makes everything that much worse, which makes crying that much more carthartic and well-deserved
not that i know much about this, mind you, cause i missed the crying gene, apparently. im just saying.

[this is good]I'm actually quite fond of parking my car in my driveway, turning up the sad or angry music and crying my eyes out over my steering wheel. It's more private than my living room (renter downstairs may hear if I really get the sobs going) and sometimes feels more satisfying than crying in my bedroom.
